Georgetown and Northside Schools Will offer Transitional Kindergarten Fall 2015

The Kindergarten program for Black Oak Mine includes both a one year program and a two year program. The one year Kindergarten is for those students who turn five by Sept. 1 and who are developmentally ready for a traditional Kindergarten (K) program. The two year Kindergarten is one year of Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and a second year in traditional Kindergarten. The TK class is designed to serve students who

turn five between the dates of Sept. 2 and Dec. 2 or for those who are not quite ready for traditional Kindergarten based upon developmental assessments and parent choice (dependent on enrollment). Students who turn five after Dec. 2nd also may enter the TK program in January of the school year - (depending on enrollment and developmental assessments - for birthdays through March 15th).

Kindergarten is offered at Northside School, Georgetown, Otter Creek and American River Charter. The school district offers a Transitional Kindergarten class at Northside School for all students, a TK/K multi-age class at Georgetown School and ARCs also offers a TK/K multi-age class.  Otter Creek is a small school with one K-5 class.
